We say farewell to our beloved Bojack Horseman as the series finale appropriately wraps up his complicated, difficult storyline.

Bojack Horseman is okay, folks! Well, as okay as he can be after a near-death experience. When he comes to, we learn that he’s not dead but he’s been sentenced to prison and will be in there for the next 14 months.

Luckily, they let him out to attend Princess Carolyn’s wedding (yay!). Just in case you’re wondering, Bojack went to prison for breaking and entering his old home. It’s quite an uncomfortable event for Bojack Horseman to attend, but he goes anyway. And of all people, Todd seeks out Bojack because he can tell how off he feels.

I love the relationship Todd and Bojack share, and it’s quite adorable to see Todd write to help Bojack by making some philosophical sense of the “Hokey Pokey” song. Sigh, you will be missed, silly, weird Todd.

Remember The Horny Unicorn? Well, apparently, it’s doing really well and has put Bojack back on the map. Leave it to Princess Carolyn to be the one to give Bojack some semblance of hope. I’ll miss their dynamic too, it’s clear that they both love each other so much. Unfortunately, they were never meant to be.

It’s not until Bojack sees Diane that he realizes why he had this pit of discomfort in his stomach. As he was nearly dying, he left Diane a voicemail. She assumed he was dead, and it was a horrible experience.

Diane always felt like the beacon he followed, and the person that had to save him. But she was able to move on eventually after learning he was alive, and hey, she moved to Houston–and GOT MARRIED! Yay, for happy endings!

I think the Bojack Horseman series finale holds some of my favorite Diane dialogue. She always has nuggets of wisdom that stick with you, and it’s a line of dialogue TVLine quoted in their recap as well.

"I think there are people who help you become the person you end up being, and you can be grateful for them even if they were never meant to be in your life forever. I’m glad I knew you."

How profound is that? It’s a culmination of the relationship they’ve shared, and it couldn’t have been articulated any better than that. We’ll miss you, Diane!

As we reach the final few moments of Bojack Horseman, Diane and Bojack sit side by side, in silence. There’s something peaceful, sad, and happy all in one about this moment. It’s bittersweet, and we’re uncertain where their futures lie, but something is comforting about them sitting together.

Life won’t be easy, and their past will stick with them, but as Diane said–you have to keep truckin’.

Bojack Horseman, you will be missed dearly, thank you for all the laughs, lessons, and for giving us the most pleasant surprise by giving us your show. And for giving us a show that seamlessly merged animals and humans together, and it actually made sense. Sigh.

Until next time.
