2. All American
Out of all the shows on this list, All American is the newest. The CW series premiered last year and has already recruited a massive and devoted fan following. The TV show is loosely based on the life of professional football player Spencer Paysinger.
Daniel Ezra stars as Spencer James, an excellent football player and rising star at South Crenshaw High. He gets recruited to play for the Beverly Hills team, but to play there, Spencer will have to relocate to Beverly Hills, changing his life forever.
Seasons 1 & 2 are currently streaming on Netflix. The series has been renewed for a third season.
1. The League
The League is an underrated sitcom that started airing back in 2009 on FX before eventually moving to FXX. If you like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, then you’ll want to check this show out. It’s not a sports drama, as it is a comedy show, but it’s still worth checking out. The show follows a group of friends that are obsessed with fantasy football.
They try and balance their fantasy league with their real-life responsibilities, but doing so isn’t always easy, especially when they get super competitive with each other. A lot of notable NFL stars guest-starred on The League during its seven-season run, so at least you can see real athletes somewhere!
All seven seasons are streaming on Hulu.
