Disney Plus: 5 upcoming shows we’re most excited to watch
By Monita Mohan
2. WandaVision
Probably the most bizarre among the MCU spin-offs, WandaVision follows Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and her life with the android Vision (Paul Bettany). These two characters have a markedly tragic comic book history, but it’s hard to fathom how the show’s storyline will play out. Though Wanda returned in the Blip, Vision’s death appeared to be permanent. So, how is he alive?
Since Wanda’s comic book powers grant her the ability to warp reality, it wouldn’t be surprising if she processes the death of her beloved Vision by cycling through imagined realities with him.
Olsen has described the six-episode series as a mashup of genres and from the teasers, it looks like viewers should expect the unexpected. Wanda is seen wearing her iconic comic book costume, but the couple is also living out a 1950s suburban life? Everything about this series is intriguing.
1. Untitled Cassian Andor and K-2SO show
Moving away from Marvel, we are waiting for the Star Wars prequel spin-off show about Cassian Andor and his droid buddy K-2SO. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been one of the highlights of recent Star Wars films, especially because of its cast of diverse characters.
We could argue that every single one of the main cast deserves their own show, but for now, this is the only one confirmed. Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk are set to reprise their roles and the show will follow the early exploits of the Rebel assassin and his defective former Imperial droid.
Considering the unending banter between the two characters, viewers can expect plenty of humor, but also some soul-searching. Cassian wasn’t always comfortable with the tasks he carried out for the Rebellion, which means we could get a show that confronts the uglier side of being a hero.
