Freud Season 1, Episode 7 recap: Revenge at all costs
By Mads Lennon
General von Lichtenberg lays his son to rest
Reidl’s orders are simple. Get rid of the Kiss problem, or he will lose his position in the army under General von Lichtenberg. The General isn’t happy that Kiss is still alive, but he is beginning to question the validity of Georg’s supposed innocence in the death of Steffi. He didn’t know his son as well as he once thought.
Lichtenberg visits his son’s old room to look through his things and investigate, and he instructs his soldier to burn everything. It seems he knows his son is indeed a murderer but is still trying to protect his reputation in death (or his own reputation, more like). It gets worse for the General when he finds the evidence that Georg killed Steffi that he tried to burn. Apparently, he didn’t finish the job.
Georg’s father does it for him, burning his son’s body alongside the items he found stashed inside of his apartment. Reidl tells him that he knows where Kiss will be later that evening. The finale is setting up for a big showdown between Kiss/Reidl and Fleur/Freud/Szápárys.
It will be interesting to see how things turn out between Kiss and Reidl, who are obviously destined to fight to the death, perhaps even in parallel to the duel between Kiss and Georg.
