Hilde writes another article

Matt also makes things right with Hilde, who mistakenly identified Kim Collins as the prime suspect in Penny’s murder. Had Matt been more honest, to begin with, then Hilde likely would never have assumed that about Kim, but she wasn’t aware of their close friendship.

Speaking of Hilde, this week, she gets into more mischief in the name of learning more about Penny’s supposed “accidental” death. She, Spoon, and Donny break into Penny’s house to look for clues. Hilde notices that the lightbulb story doesn’t add up.

While there, they run into Officer Trip, who got a call about broken glass arrived to investigate. Except then, an actual intruder does break-in to Penny’s house, and Trip goes after them. Unfortunately, she doesn’t catch up to the mysterious trespasser in time to identify them or catch them.

Afterward, she does, at least, agree to give Hilde a tiny exclusive. Hilde includes the memo in her latest article, which goes live at the end of the episode. Trip’s tip turns out to be that at least some officers at the police department feel that Penny’s death should be an open investigation. The other officers aren’t pleased about Hilde’s new article.

However, the most shocking moment of all arrives at the final moment of episode two of Home Before Dark. The Liskos receive a collect call from the local prison, Sam Gillis is on the line, and he has a tip for Hilde.

Odds & Ends

  • Matt’s dad has a fascination with origami paper airplanes. I have a feeling that is going to become important later.
  • Izzy gets taunted by the Jessicas after she posts an obviously-photoshopped image of herself in Paris on Instagram. However, she does attract the attention of Ethan, who thinks her graphic-editing skills are cool. The two take a walk in the woods and almost share a kiss before they’re randomly chased by a wolf. Ethan bolts and leaves Izzy to fend for herself, so we’ll see if that nipped the romance in the bud.
