5. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a musical comedy that follows the life of Rebecca Bunch, played by Rebecca Bloom. In the show, Bunch leaves her cushy life in New York to move across the country to West Covina, California. Why, do you ask? To follow a boyfriend that she had in high school named Josh Chan, played by Vincent Rodriguez III.
Upon arriving at West Covina, Bunch realizes this might not be as easy as she thought, as Josh has a serious girlfriend. Each episode is filled with multiple songs about Rebecca’s life and the antics that she goes through to get Josh to fall in love with her.
The songs are written for the show. When you watch, you may even recognize some of them as they are parodies of famous musical theater songs.
