How to Get Away with Murder Season 6, Episode 11 recap: The Reckoning

What Happened That Night?
Asher Millstone began this journey as a sweet and earnest guy, albeit one with little sense of his privilege. He learned fast and became one of the best in the team until he killed an ADA in retaliation for bringing down his father.
Despite it all, Asher probably didn’t deserve to get killed. In the previous episode of How to Get Away with Murder, all signs pointed to Gabriel Maddox being the potential killer. He lied about not seeing Asher, so what’s his deal?
Asher’s sister, Chloe, confronts Gabriel about his lies. The FBI found out that Asher had used Gabriel’s phone to call Chloe on the night of his murder. So why was Gabriel hiding the truth? He doesn’t tell Chloe, but Gabriel confesses to the FBI.
Asher had traded his $64,000 cheque that he’d won from Annalise for Gabriel’s phone. Asher then called his sister to take him home because he had told all his friends about being the mole, and he had no evidence to show the FBI. Chloe agrees to send him a pick-up.
While waiting for his ride, Asher made a farewell video to his friends. It was a very Asher move – he professed his love to Michaela and thanked Connor for being a great friend and for marrying Oliver. It’s hilarious that Asher felt that marrying Oliver was Connor’s most redeeming quality. Honestly, speaking, that’s probably true.
Before Asher could send the video, he was interrupted by someone he knew. That, someone turned out to be his killer. When the FBI finds the video, they send it to Michaela, Connor, and Oliver, and all three of them spend the episode mourning their dead friend.
