The Office, Hawaii 5-0, and 13 TV remakes better than the original series

8. Hawaii Five-0
Hawaii Five-0 recently came to an end after almost 250 episodes and ten seasons. The long-running CBS procedural was based on the 1968 television series of the same name. H50 has maintained its popularity for a long time, and while it didn’t quite manage to surpass the original in terms of the episode or season count, it strongly benefitted from better production values.
The 1968 version was still fun and a landmark feat in crime procedural shows, but it didn’t quite have the same high-octane action sequences that we became accustomed to in the newer version. Plus, while the first series focuses mainly on McGarrett and Danno, the 2010 version improved on balancing the ensemble cast and produced many lovable side characters.
7. Doctor Who
Most people who consider themselves diehard “Whovians” are speaking of the more recent iteration of the British science fiction show. That said, we don’t want to offend fans of the original 1963 show since it has a strong legacy in the genre.
But unfortunately, the older seasons were very limited in many ways that the newer versions aren’t. For starters, the newer seasons are much more progressive than the 1963 years. I mean decades later, and we’re just now getting a female Doctor for the first time.
Also, Doctor Who didn’t necessarily get “remade,” but it did do a reboot between 1989 and 2005 before returning for the series that is currently airing.
