How to Get Away with Murder season 6, episode 12 recap: Let’s Hurt Him
By Monita Mohan
Xaviar’s Back
The only Castillo on the loose is Xaviar (Gerardo Celasco). When we saw him last, he had tortured Frank Delfino nearly to death before disappearing. Now the tables are turned.
Frank, who’s been tasked with tailing Agent Pollack in the hopes of digging out the truth behind Gabriel’s theory, spots an exchange between Xavier and Pollack – Xavier picks up Pollack’s coffee cup, which happens to contain a passport and ticket to Brazil.
Next, we see Frank has Xavier captive and is torturing him for information about the Castillo involvement in Annalise’s case. Xavier is still hung up on the idea that Frank is in love with Laurel and wants to know where she is, but Frank has moved on.
Frank feels like Laurel was into him because he was dangerous like her father, but she wanted someone who was innately good. Frank couldn’t be that guy, but he is now with Bonnie Winterbottom, who loves him warts and all.
This does make sense – Laurel may have fallen for Frank’s bad boy personality, but her love for Wes Gibbons was deep. They shared a connection because they were both good people who had occasionally done bad things. Frank never had a chance with her.
Frank then hands Xavier over to Nate Lahey. Nate needs closure about his father’s murder at the hands of the police, and he finally gets it. Nate’s father was killed because of the political game that Governor Lynne Birkhead (Laura Innes) was playing with Jorge Castillo (Esai Morales).
Lahey senior was simply a pawn in their game.
Admittedly, it’s hard to trust everything that Xavier is staying, but dead men tell no tales. Right?
Nate attempts to leave Xavier when Xavier drops another bomb on Nate – the man Nate needs to go after is Jorge. He called the hit on Nate’s father and is the architect of all their doom. Xavier is ready to help Nate hurt his father, but Nate’s way ahead of him. He breaks Xavier’s neck and leaves his dead body.
