Love 101 Season 1, Episode 6 recap: The gang celebrates Isik’s birthday
By Mads Lennon
In episode 6 of Love 101, it’s Isik’s birthday, and the group celebrates in a big way. Plus, several couples make bold moves.
I can’t believe there are only three episodes left of Love 101! I’m sad, and we’re not even at the end yet. I hope this show gets renewed, don’t you?
Well, Episode 6 begins with a conversation between Eda and Sinan, one that made me want to see more of a friendship between the two. Sinan is fully aware he has no idea how to express himself to Isik. Eda basically says, “shut up and kiss her.” Will Sinan go for it?
Not exactly. Sinan’s idea of being romantic is insulting Isik for celebrating her birthday.
On the other hand, Burcu and Kemal aren’t getting along much better. Kemal blows off rehearsal and curtly dismisses Burcu when she tries to confront him about it. Meanwhile, the other nameless professor is still sniffing around, trying to get into Kemal’s pants.
Elsewhere, Osman is putting his revenge plan against Tuncay into action. He’s enlisted Ali’s help, which makes sense since he was the one most affected by Tuncay’s snitching. They’re setting him up to buy land for a considerable profit, but then they plan to scam him, hence why Osman needed his father to help him with a Land Registry connection.
We get a little more of Sinan and Eda together as she shows up at his house to ask for advice. Eda trusts Sinan’s observations, so she wants his honest opinion of her, especially after Burak told her that Kerem was over her.
Sinan does what he does best, cut to the cold heart truth.
He thinks Eda is superficial and cowardly, that she only cares about others’ opinions of her concerning her passion for graphic design and even her attraction to Kerem. He also calls her out on her starvation diet.
In return, Eda asks him if he’s kissed Isik yet, which, of course, he hasn’t.
Back at school, Necdet is in good spirits over the donation of a new high-tech lab that he’s been permitted to name after himself if he wants. He gloats about Burcu’s leave date getting closer to the students, eager to expel them as soon as he gets the chance.

Well, things between Eda and Burak turn volatile fast. Eda agrees to go on a date with him, purely to make Kerem jealous, but in the process, she pretty much admits she’s in love with Kerem.
Burak doesn’t like that, and he threatens her for humiliating him. “You’ll pay for this,” he yells before storming out of the restaurant. Uh-oh.
Eda is just as lost on romance as Sinan is, only in a different way. At least she’s made a good friend in Isik, who comforts her before the two go to Burcu’s house to do some investigation into her relationship with Tuncay.
The night turns into a drunken wine night between the three women. It’s cute. Plus, their conversation seems to motivate all three of them to make bold choices regarding the men in their lives.
After Eda and Isik leave to catch up with the boys and they take a nighttime boat trip to celebrate Isik’s birthday. She abandoned her family’s celebration to hang out with her new pals, and I imagine she’s going to deal with the consequences of that choice soon.
But for now, she gets to enjoy a memorable birthday with her friends. She makes a wish that all of them will reunite in 20 years, which is the present-day Isik we’ve seen in vignettes. Isik is drunk and happy and falls off the boat. Sinan immediately dives in after her, and they finally kiss underwater! Eda takes her chance to tell Kerem she surrenders and doesn’t want anyone else. The two get steamy in a random staircase at Sinan’s house while Isik and Sinan make heart eyes at each other over tea.
Burcu makes a bold move too, ditching her wedding ring and grabbing Kemal’s coat (given to her by Eda) to return it to him and perhaps confess her love. I’m afraid when she shows up that other professor is going to be there, but we don’t get to find out just yet.
Adult Isik says she never celebrated another birthday after that night.
