7 Netflix shows canceled way too soon, ranked

5. Trigger Warning with Killer Mike
With a title like Trigger Warning with Killer Mike, one would expect the series to be a maelstrom of offensive material. However, if you watch it, you might like Mike. Granted, he doesn’t tend to mince words, which might not make him tailor-made for our age.
However, he’s entertaining and thought-provoking. He’s also apparently canceled on Netflix, as there’s been neither hide nor hair of a second season.
Trigger Warning with Killer Mike probably has room for improvement, but the one season alone provides plenty of interesting and unique content, neatly packed into 6 episodes. In fact, Mike even managed to work in recurring characters and running gags, which isn’t so easy to do in a documentary.
Though the show makes a few odd, unexpected, and perhaps inflammatory turns, it is an interesting look at certain elements of American life. It should probably come back for another season, just to see what happens.
4. Daybreak
Based on the comic series by Brian Ralph, Wikipedia sums Daybreak up as a “post-apocalyptic comedy-drama web television series.” That doesn’t quite do the show justice, however. It’s an examination of tribal social breakdown after an apocalyptic event, as well as mutant humans called “Ghoulies”. However, its main appeal is the quirky characters, with The Witch (Krysta Rodriguez) being especially noteworthy for her fractured mind and bizarre behavior.
You also have Colin Ford as Josh, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Angelica, Austin Crute as Wesley Fists, and Matthew Broderick as Michael Burr, a former high school principal who transforms into something even darker when society collapses.
Why was Daybreak canceled? Presumably, ratings. However, make no mistake: People do want Daybreak to return. In fact, even critics took it fairly easy on the series. Unfortunately, Daybreak might not return, that is unless there’s a massive push for some network to pick it up again.
