12. Shameless
It would be impossible to create a list highlighting the best Showtime shows and not include Shameless, a remake that managed to become better than the original series. Most fans are in agreement that the U.S. Shameless became an excellent television show over the years.
Even if it did decline in quality in the more recent seasons, it would remain a top-tier series in the minds of many. The family drama with dark comedy elements followed the Gallagher clan, a messy and dysfunctional family centered around an alcoholic patriarch named Frank.
Since Frank never learned to be a good father, his eldest daughter Fiona picked up the slack and worked hard to take care of her siblings throughout the years and the many difficulties. The upcoming eleventh season will be the show’s last.

11. The Chi
The Chi is a more recent addition to this list, and despite it being somewhat affected by the behind-the-scenes controversy, it is still a very well-written and moving piece of television.
Created by Lena Waithe, the series is set in the South Side of Chicago, and it follows a group of characters who begin to realize that even the smallest of decisions can impact your life and the lives of those around you.
It is a coming-of-age series that focuses on a preteen named Kevin, who has his entire life rattled by a murder that echoes throughout the whole neighborhood. The series has been renewed for a third season, set to premiere later this year.
