Charlie takes Steve’s car for a ride

Elsewhere, Charlie picks up his new female friend Parker, and she’s as enthusiastic about the Mercedes as he is. Charlie also digs through the glove compartment and finds what looks like a burner phone and a few other accessories from Steve including sunglasses and a TKG hat.

They pull over somewhere to make out and suddenly get caught by a cop. He doesn’t appear to notice anything suspicious but tells the teens to move because they can’t park on private property.

It’s impossible not to notice the subtle commentary on white privilege here, as Vulture‘s recap also points out. Charlie gets off scot-free without even needing his plates run or to hand over his registration.

Well, Charlie doesn’t pay attention to the amount of gas in the car and it ends up running out, leaving him and Parker stranded. He has to call Jen, who is livid about the whole thing. She gets Judy to take Charlie and Parker home and finally reaches her breaking point.

Jen douses Steve’s car — and the TKG hat which she takes from Parker and throws inside — lights a cigarette and sets the whole thing on fire. Was that a smart move? Isn’t it going to attract attention now? Could the police think that the mafia did that or maybe Steve himself?
