Here are five of the best Gilmore Girls episodes to watch on Mother’s Day:

5. Season 3, Episode 7 – “They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?”

More from Netflix

This episode is considered one of the best of the series, and one of the most popular.

Most fans remember it vividly because it is the episode where Rory and Jess officially start dating, but more than it contains one of the many fun Stars Hollow town events — the 24-hour dance marathon. Lorelai is eager to win this year and finally defeat the reigning champion, Kirk.

But her partner bows out at the last second, and she turns to her only other option, Rory. Rory is reluctant to partake but eventually gives in to her mother’s whims.

Aside from that, other subplots include Lane and Dave attempting to meet up between serving egg sandwiches at the dance marathon with Mrs. Kim, and Sookie and Jackson bicker about having four-in-four (four kids in four years).
