When we last saw Ramy, he was visiting Egypt to see his grandfather and try to connect more with his spirituality. He also felt a romantic connection to his cousin, Amani. According to an interview Youssef recently gave to Entertainment Weekly, he intends the second season to have a more “spiritual path” for Ramy.
The gang is back in the Ramy Season 2 trailer
Based on the official trailer, it looks like the main cast from season one is set to return for the new season. The trailer offers a few brief teases of characters, both new and old. Along with Ali’s Shiekh, it looks like Mia Khalifa has also joined the cast.
Ali told Entertainment Weekly that he was impressed by the series and its diverse storytelling about Muslim characters. He reached out to Youseff and eventually came aboard in an integral Season 2 role.
Initially, he was only supposed to appear for a few episodes, but the number kept growing. It sounds like Ali and Youseff got along great in the show, and the trailer teases some of their chemistry. It’ll be fun to see them acting opposite each other.
