Homecoming Season 3: Will there be another season?

Will we get Homecoming Season 3? We’d like to think so.
Homecoming Season 3 could very much be a possibility, but as of now, there has been no official information from Amazon’s end. I’d like to think that that we will get another season of this psychological thriller, especially because the second season ends on a note that leaves room for more stories.
But given the current nature of things, it seems the decision could sway in either direction.
What would Homecoming Season 3 be about?
Well, this poses an interesting question. Looking at the two seasons overall, I think the story feels complete. Walter Cruz (Stephan James) got his revenge on Geist and is now looking ahead to the future. And everyone at Geist, well, they aren’t going to remember much about themselves or their lives after drinking the “memory loss juice”, so I don’t know if there is much more to squeeze out of that storyline.

I don’t think the character of Leonard Geist (Chris Cooper) is intriguing enough to focus a season on, but I could see him coming into play with Walter’s storyline if they choose to bring him back.
It’s clear Walter is likely attempting to right the wrongs of Geist, and he can only do that by reaching out to others that were participants of the Homecoming program. Maybe Leonard could play a role in that?
There is, of course, Janelle Monáe’s character Alex, who could still be a part of a potential of Homecoming Season 3. But if the series follows the first season’s path, her character could be swapped out for a new one just as she was brought in to replace Julia Roberts’ Heidi Bergman.
If we do get a third season, I’m leaning towards the story following Walter Cruz. It’d be interesting to see where that could take the series, especially given that it presents a moral dilemma. If past participants don’t remember what happened, is it fair to pull them into this mess? That would definitely be an interesting way to go into a third season.
The best-case scenario would be to bring back Roberts’ character, Heidi, into the mix and have her team up with Walter Cruz in some way, shape, or form. I’d love to see that!
Amazon tends to make different decisions over other streaming services, and it’s tough to say how soon news of renewal will pop up. Some shows like The Boys were renewed fairly quickly while Forever was canceled after one season.
Given that Homecoming is already two seasons in, I won’t be surprised if the decision to give it another installment is made.
