It’s Always Sunny flashback: 8 best details of ‘Mac Day’
By Wade Wainio
7. Exchanging regular Mac for Country Mac
The gang doesn’t tend to like each other. They just happen to be the only people who can stand themselves. However, Country Mac threatens to change all that, being the real version of everything regular Mac claims to be.
The gang is very quick to ask him to replace the other one. Though Country Mac joined only briefly before his death, he did offer them a glimpse of hope. Had he fully joined, would they continue fighting so incessantly? Would they be able to craft better schemes, concentrate on them, and have actual success? Would the focus have shifted away from their horrible, turbulent traits? The world will never know.
8. Frank’s callousness
It must have been a troubling day — not just for Mac, but also for Frank. Frank, the moneyed, sassy, loud misanthrope with an ever-dwindling social life, is obviously not happy about Mac Day. Like the others, Frank has to pretend to enjoy the festivities. Without his companions along to suffer with him, would someone like Frank be able to avoid adding tons of extra Mac Days? It’s doubtful.
Also, Country Mac helps them turn things around by outdoing the regular one. Yes, Country Mac is a far cry from city Mac. Still, Frank seems to not care much about him, either, dumping his ashes in one of Paddy’s restroom toilets. Does Frank care about his pals? It seems like he does a little bit. Still, when all is said and done, Frank is always ready to not care.
