The Order Season 2 premiere recap: The Knights lose their memories

If you’ll recall, when we last left off with the Knights of Saint Christopher and the members of the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose, the werewolves were getting their memories removed by the latter. In The Order Season 2 premiere, we see how well that works out — the answer? Not well.

By the end of the first hour, Jack, Lilith, Randall, and Hamish all have their memories back in working order, and they’re not particularly thrilled with the magical folk for taking them away.

The bulk of the Season 2 premiere revolves around the Knights and their respective magical handlers trying to keep the werewolves from regaining their memory.

The struggle proves to be difficult as there is a rogue magic practitioner on campus who keeps using magic willy-nilly to kill people and it triggers the telltale ringing that forces the werewolves to transform.

Meanwhile, Vera is trying to figure out the best way to handle the Knights, with the newly-promoted Alyssa trying to vouch for them.

Vera does not want to appear too soft-hearted, so there is an unspoken agreement that if they can’t control the Knights, they may have to kill them.

Obviously, Alyssa doesn’t want that to happen so when it eventually seems like the magical memory dust powder is no longer doing the trick, she decides to return their memories in full.

In return, the Knights have to agree not to say anything and pretend they don’t have their memories back as they are officially inducted into the Order, meant to become new allies so Vera can have some fearsome wolves doing her bidding.

However, by episode’s end, when Jack, Randall, Lilith, and Hamish finally reveal they know everything once again, they also reveal an ulterior motive to destroy the Order and everyone in it. And yes, that even includes Alyssa, as Jack is apparently so not over her betrayal.

What does this mean for The Order Season 2?

While Season 1 of the series wound up seeing members of the Order working together with the Knights to bring down Edward Coventry, Season 2 is more about the Knights trying to destroy the Order for good.

However, given the unknown force on campus killing off random students in spectacularly gruesome fashion, I have a feeling they’re going to have to put aside their differences to work together once again. Plus, we can’t really expect Jack to stay mad at Alyssa forever, can we?
