Ramy Season 3: Will Lindsay Lohan appear in the new season?

Hulu has given the green light for Ramy Season 3.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Ramy has officially been renewed! It is not yet clear when Ramy Season 3 would air on the streaming service, but considering the critical acclaim the show has received, it’s not too surprising that it was renewed.

Ramy Youssef has even won a Golden Globe for his performance on the series, and it would be surprising if the second season did not garner some awards attention. In my opinion, Season 2 was even better than the first!

Plus, the second season included a fantastic performance from Mahershala Ali, who played Sheikh Ali Malik. Also, Ramy’s life was left in absolute disarray by the end of Season 2, considering he cheated on his wife-to-be and ruined his potential marriage.

Who is the special guest star that could appear on Ramy Season 3?

So, who might be the special guest star for Ramy Season 3? Lindsay Lohan, of course! Entertainment Weekly reports that Lohan was actually cast for the second season, but she just sort of… didn’t show up for work. She was on the call sheet and everything.

That said, Youssef assures she is still welcome to return in Season 3 if she wants. He counts her amongst his “favorite Muslims.”

In fact, the reason they had wanted Lohan to appear in the show is similar to why they cast Mia Khalifa. The creator said they were “interested in the idea of people that you don’t really think are Muslim.”

Lohan has publically documented her conversion to Islam over the years, which is what attracted Youseff to inviting her on the series. Unfortunately, after having some initial conversations with her, she fell off the map. But who knows? Maybe she’ll finally make an appearance in Season 3.
