Stateless Season 1: Will Rosna and Sofie escape?

In the previous episode of the Netflix Original Stateless, Sofie has figured out that Rosna has dug a hole to escape the camp. We are left wondering when they will escape and where does this hole lead?

We start with all of the officers putting riot gear on in preparation of the protest. Brian and Clare are there to meet them. Brian thinks that this is too much, but Clare doesn’t seem to think so. The press is also behind the gates watching everything and taking pictures.

Brian starts giving information over a foghorn as the officers go outside the gates and stand guard.

In the courtyard, there is a religious service going on. Ameer and Farid are talking about Mosi. Farid asked Ameer why he isn’t happy to see him. They get split up before Ameer can answer.

Sofie asks a guard to drive the priest to the exit. The guard leaves and Sofie nods to Rosna. This could be their chance to escape.

Clare is giving directions to the guards and the cops. A few cars show up with signs, balloons, and guitars. Could this be the protest they are so worried about?

Sofie climbs onto the roof where the men are to compromise the camera. Mina goes to her father and tells him that they have the opportunity to escape. Ameer tells her to stay away from Sofie and Rosna.

Sofie is on the roof and gets distracted by the balloons. She flashing back to the dance where she was humiliated by Gordon.

Javad is able to trick one of the guards and gets out of solitary. He is able to run and jump the fence. The two men from the roof come down and help Sofie and Rosna dig another hole. The original hole is to get the men over to the women’s side, so they can all escape. This new whole will lead to the outside.

More protestors are showing up so Clare is forced to keep the police where they are.

Now all 5 of them are frantically digging the hole to escape. Will they make it out before someone notices?

The man in charge of watching surveillance is now realizing what is going on. At the same time, Cam sees them escaping. He calls it over the radio.

Clare goes running to the escape area. Cam is able to stop one man. It is the man that confides in him. He doesn’t let him escape.

Some people drive away from the protest to help pick up the people that have escaped.

Sofie runs for as long as she can before she has to stop in the middle of the desert area.

The guards check to see who is missing and they figure out who it is.

Brian says the Cam’s sister has been visiting one of the men in the camp and insinuates that Cam knows something, but Cam denies this.

Sofie is still making her way through the desert and has to stop yet again. She is thinking about how she begged to go back to Pat. What we didn’t see before was Gordon coming outside after Pat. He threatens her and tells her to go far, far away.

Cam’s sister spots Sofie on the side of the road and offers to drive her into town. Sofie gets in. She thinks that Sofie is a protestor. Sofie then sees Javad in the back of the car.

Clare is also out and looking for anyone she can.

Cam’s sister brings Javad to his family in another camp. They also get into the car.

Clare is too late, the police are already at the next camp where Javad’s family was. As we know, they are already gone.

Stateless Season 1: Will they make it to the safe house?

A police officer flags down Cam’s sister in the car. She quickly gives directions to Sofie and gets out of the car. Cam’s sister starts to talk to the officer and walk into the precinct with him and Sofie drives away in the car.

At the precinct, we see that they have found the others. Rosna pleads to not be brought back to the immigration camp. Clare is starting to see the other side.

While Sofie is driving, she has a flashback to a time where she was pretending to be Eva to get on a flight and she was told she couldn’t by a ticket unless she had a second form of ID. Sofie runs away from the counter.

We then see Margot going to the police about Gordon and Pat Masters, but it seems the police are already onto them. The officer can only say that he can’t speak about an ongoing investigation. Margot pleads that she thinks that they did something to Sofie, but he isn’t really listening.

Sofie gets Javad and his family to the safe house. Javad’s daughter asks Sofie what her name is, but we don’t see an answer. I wonder if she will tell Javad the truth.

Cam going to his sister’s and starts to yell at her for all she did. Before leaving, Cam takes her cell phone. The one that is probably linked to Javad.

Clare goes home and her reporter neighbor actually asks if she wants a beer. She gives in. Clare is changing.

We return to the safe house and Javad asks Sofie why she is lying about who she is. She tells him that she wanted to get deported. Javad is just happy that his family is together, even though they have nothing.

Margot is in her kitchen and gets a phone call. Sofie is on the other end, but she doesn’t want to say anything. Margot asks if it is her and she responds. Margot wants to know where she is and insists that she will come to get her.

Margot tells her about how she went to the police about GOPA. Sofie tells Margot that she would be killed if she said anything.

We then see Ameer back at the camp. He calls to talk to Mosi at the fence line. Mosi had his interview and Ameer wants to know what he said. They have some sort of agreement between the two of them.

Cam is now with his wife. They are debating handing the phone in. She wants him to turn his sister in, but he is on the fence.

Cam decides to turn them all in and the police arrive at the safe house, as well as his sister’s house.

We then see flashbacks of Sofie on a boat. She is chased by a security guard. We also see Sofie in real-time being arrested at the safe house. Javad and his family are being taken as well.

Sofie and Javad are brought back to the immigration camp and put in solitary confinement. This can’t be good for either of them.
