2. Watch while waiting for Hightown Season 2: Narcos
Similar to Power and Hightown, Narcos is all about the drug trade — specifically cocaine, and it’s based on real-life drug kingpins like Pablo Escobar. The initial Narcos series followed stories that occurred in the late 1980s and the battle waged between the dealers, cartels, and the law enforcement.
There is also a spin-off called Narcos: Mexico that has been well-received. Both are worth watching for their excellent acting, plotting, and writing.
1. Watch while waiting for Hightown Season 2: Justified
Justified is a little different tonally from Hightown, but it’s still an addictive crime drama that often gets overlooked despite Timothy Olyphant’s incredible work in the starring role of Deputy Raylan Givens.
Raylan has a tendency to use “Wild West-style” methods when he upholds justice and that often makes him a problem for the criminals in town in addition to his higher-ups at the U.S. Marshals Service. At the beginning of the series, he is reassigned to Kentucky in the town where he grew up and lots of drama stems from his return.
