Ryan Murphy will serve as an executive producer and the series will also star Sharon Stone, Cynthia Nixon, Finn Wittrock, Charlie Carver, and more.
Season 1 is set to premiere on September 18 on Netflix and the show already has a Season 2 order.
Upcoming horror TV shows: Lovecraft Country
Lovecraft Country is based on the book of the same name by Matt Ruff. It is also a collaboration between Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams.
The new series follows Atticus Black as he joins his friend and uncle on a road trip across the 1950s Jim Crow America while trying to find his father. Along the way, he encounters both monsters akin to something Lovecraftian and racist monstrosities.
Season 1 will premiere on August 16 on HBO.
Upcoming horror TV shows: The Walking Dead: World Beyond
Unlike the other Walking Dead television shows, The Walking Dead World Beyond will focus on a younger generation. Set several years after the beginning of the apocalypse, the series will follow a group of the kids that grew up in the desolate world filled with zombies, never knowing what life was like before it.
The series premiere will be on October 4 on AMC.
Upcoming horror TV shows: Mike Flanagan projects
Mike Flanagan has made quite a name for himself over the last few years as one of the best horror writers and directors around. He also has quite a cozy home at Netflix, where his series The Haunting of Hill House became a breakout hit.
Next up, we’ll be getting the second season, which will kick-off the anthology format with a new story called The Haunting of Bly Manor. It will draw from Henry James’s famous novella, The Turn of the Screw.
Flanagan also has two other projects in the works at Netflix in The Midnight Club and Midnight Mass. Midnight Mass will revolve around a strange community where mysterious things begin happening after a new priest arrives in town.
The Midnight Club is based on the popular book series by Christopher Pike. It is set at a hospice for dying teenagers and a group of them get together to try and contact those beyond the grave.
No premiere dates have been set for any of the new shows as of yet.
Upcoming horror TV shows: Chucky
Finally, the infamous killer doll Chucky is getting his own series on SYFY soon. Original creator Don Mancini and voice actor Brad Dourif are both returning for the show, which is slated to debut sometime next year. It is being advertised as a new take on the original Child’s Play film.
