Hunters Season 2: Release date, plot details, trailer, and more

Amazon Prime has given Hunters Season 2 the green light.

According to Deadline, Amazon Studios has given the go-ahead for Hunters Season 2! That means we’ll get to see more of the acclaimed conspiracy thriller starring Jerrika Hinton, Logan Lerman, and the esteemable Al Pacino.

David Weil, the show’s creator, said he was “beyond grateful” to the studio for allowing to “share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.”

For those who did not tune in to the first season, the Jordan Peele-produced series followed an eclectic group of Nazi Hunters living in 1977, New York City. Upon learning several notable Nazi officials were living in the area, they struck out to take them down and prevent the rise of a Fourth Reich.

When can we expect Hunters Season 2 to air?

Season 1 premiere in February of this year, honestly, I’m surprised it took so long for Amazon to order Hunters Season 2.

It is possible they confirmed with Weil they would be ordering more episodes so he and his team could prep for next season.

Regardless, due to the pandemic, it might be a while before production officially starts. I could see the sophomore season being pushed toward a late spring or even early summer debut.

What will Hunters Season 2 be about?

Lerman’s character, Jonah, gets a brutal wakeup call in the finale after a twist reveals that his mentor, and the supposed “leader” and altruistic “good guy” of the series, is not who he says he is.

As this Vox article pointed out, Jonah was established as the somewhat naive, moral compass of Hunters Season 1. After learning the truth about Meyer Offerman and understanding the ramifications, how radically will that affect him moving forward?

Is there a trailer for Hunters Season 2?

Not yet, it’s definitely too early to expect a teaser for the new season. That said, if Amazon is feeling generous and the team behind Hunters gets creative, we could see at least a short clip before the years is over.

I doubt it will be anything significant, but lots of shows have found ways to give fans new content, even during the pandemic. Good Omens is another Amazon Prime series that managed to release a fun coda to the show under quarantine.
