2. Shows like Yellowstone: Longmire

Longmire is a modern west crime drama based on the mystery novels of the same name by Craig Johnson. Starring Robert Taylor in the title role of Walt Longmire, the charming sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, Longmire must keep his county safe while mourning his wife’s death in secret.

Along with the assistance of his daughter Cady and the female deputy Vic, Longmire slowly starts to find a new lease on life and even choose to run for re-election. Of course, life isn’t always easy for a lawman, and he has to deal with his fair share of challenges from the local community.

Originally an A&E series, the network canceled it after only two seasons despite claiming it was their highest-performing drama. Luckily for fans, Netflix swooped in to rescue it in one of their earliest network saves. The series ran for six seasons in total.

Longmire is available to stream in full on Netflix.

1. Shows like Yellowstone: Justified

Another western crime drama, Justified is one of the most critically-acclaimed series on this list and certainly worth watching even if you haven’t seen Yellowstone! It’s a fantastic series that stars Timothy Olyphant as Deputy Raylan Givens, who uses some rather Wild Wild West tactics to keep folks in line.

As a result, one incident gets him reassigned to a district in Kentucky, which happens to be the same one where he grew up. The character of Raylan is inspired by several books and short stories by Elmore Leonard. Justified received eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations throughout its six-season run.

Justified is available to stream in full on Netflix.
