Virgin River Season 2 is officially happening at Netflix after the tremendous success of the first season. The romantic drama was well-received by fans, and many are already eager to find out when it will return for more episodes. Not only is Virgin River getting a sophomore season, but Netflix went ahead and renewed it for a third season, too!

Virgin River Season 2: When will it premiere?

The first season of Virgin River debuted on December 6, 2019. In an ideal world, the second season would premiere this December, only a few months away. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains to be seen if the show will stay on track.

We already know it’s not going to come out in September has Netflix has already announced the September additions to their schedule, and Virgin River Season 2 was not included on that list. That said, according to What’s On Netflix, the second season seems to have finished filming since Netflix was already making plans to film the third season this summer.

If anything got delayed, it was probably production on that season, but fans would not be expecting it until winter 2021 anyway. So, all that said, it is very possible that Virgin River Season 2 will remain on track to debut in just a few short months.

Virgin River Season 2: What will the new season be about?

Virgin River’s second season will consist of ten episodes, and we’ll likely see whether Mel really does move away from Virgin River as she told Jack she was going to do in the finale after his heartfelt admission. Considering she’s the lead of the show, I think we can guess that she’ll be back somehow. Hopefully, we’ll also find out what happened to Paige!

Additionally, we know that the main cast is set to return, along with some additions, such as Carmel Amit,  Keith MacKechnie, Donald Heng, Steve Bacic, Lane Edwards, and Thomas Nicholson.
