4. Shows like P-Valley: Hightown
Similar to P-Valley, Hightown is also a Starz drama that debuted this summer. Chicago Fire alumna Monica Raymund stars as Jackie Quinones, a gay National Marine Fisheries officer who finds a body washed ashore over a holiday weekend. Despite not knowing the victim, seeing the dead body traumatized Jackie and leads her to become tangled up in the case as she tries to solve it on her own.
Season 1 is now streaming on Starz and the series has been renewed for season 2. There is a strip club in Hightown, too, but the depiction isn’t as nuanced as P-Valley. Still, Riley Voelkel’s character Renee is great, hopefully, we’ll see her get a richer storyline in the sophomore season.

3. Shows like P-Valley: Claws
Claws is a TNT series anchored by the phenomenal and hilarious Niecy Nash. It’s a comedy-drama with crime thriller elements revolving around five manicurists living in the vibrant, electric Manatee County in Florida.
The women enter the world of organized crime when they start a money-laundering operation and slowly begin their ascent to running a criminal empire of their own. Claws was recently renewed for a fourth and final season, you can catch up on the first three seasons on Hulu.
Production on the final season has been delayed due to the pandemic, so you have plenty of time to catch up before it premieres.
