16. Best fall TV shows: Modern Family

Sitcoms seem to do the holidays better than any other genre or television format. Modern Family has tons of fall and holiday-themed episodes. Since the holidays are a time for family, Modern Family‘s big dysfunctional one might make you feel better and is undoubtedly good for a few laughs. The long-running Emmy Award-winning series revolves around traditional parents Phil and Claire with their three kids, including the smart, sarcastic Alex, rebellious, preppy Haley, and devious Luke.

The main cast also includes Claire’s gay brother Mitchell and his husband Cam, family patriarch Jay, and his new wife, Gloria. Gloria also has a son from a previous marriage named Manny. Each episode is told with a documentary film maker’s perspective, meaning the family members get confessionals, making it even more hilarious.

Modern Family is available to rent or buy through digital retail services.

15. Best fall TV shows: Sister, Sister

Tia and Tamera Mowry burst onto the scene in this hilarious sitcom where they played twins separated at birth and adopted by a different parent. One day, the two run into each other at the mall, and once their families meet, they decide to live together so the twins can grow up as sisters, despite the fact Tia’s mom Lisa (Jackee Harry) and Tamera’s dad (Ray Campbell) don’t get along.

Jackee Harry is reason enough alone to watch this show, which is finally streaming in full on Netflix. Fans rejoiced because it’s just in time for fall, and we’ve all been waiting for the show to stream for years now!

Sister, Sister is now streaming on Netflix.
