8. Best fall TV shows: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

From the Riverdale creators comes another chilling show set in the Archie Comics universe with a decidedly darker take. Based on a chilling set of comics of the same name, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is probably unlike the Sabrina Spellman you remember from her Melissa Joan Hart days. The characters are all there, but this time, the witches in the story are all called to Satan’s service.

The wild supernatural horror show is just as crazy and twisted as Riverdale, albeit a little more cohesive, and if you like dark stories with witches at the center, this one will make for optimal fall viewing. The series is set to end with its upcoming “Part 4,” which is supposed to air by the end of this year, although I wouldn’t be surprised if it were pushed back to 2021.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is now streaming on Netflix.

7. Best fall TV shows: Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Suppose you want to watch something about witches, specifically Sabrina Spellman, but want it to be a little more lighthearted than dark. In that case, you should check into the original Melissa Joan Hart series Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The hilarious sitcom is still based on the Archie comics series but with a few little twists. On Sabrina’s 16th birthday, she discovers that she’s a witch, and as she tries to experiment with her powers, many of her spells frequently go awry, which is where her aunts, Zelda and Hilda, come in to help guide her through her magical transformation.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch is streaming on Hulu, Peacock TV and CBS All Access.
