3. Chicago Fire Season 9: Will COVID-19 be mentioned?

It’s safe to say that the novel coronavirus has consumed our lives for the past six months. Events were canceled, games were postponed, and life as we knew it changed forever.

The virus has killed hundreds of thousands and infected millions. Thus, lockdowns, face masks and social distancing are now our new normal.

With that said, we are wondering if something similar to the coronavirus will appear in Season 9.

Because Chicago Fire follows the paramedics of Firehouse 51 on emergency calls, it’s possible one could be a Chicago resident experiencing COVID-like symptoms. Perhaps, it would even involve a crossover with Chicago Med.

Or the show might try to incorporate masks and social distancing measures into the everyday life of the characters. For example, Molly’s Bar could close temporarily or only allow patrons up to a certain capacity.

The reality is that COVID-19 is part of our lives now. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon. And considering it was the sole reason the show’s production came to a screeching halt earlier this year, it would be a bit strange if it isn’t at least mentioned next season.
