4. Scary shows on Netflix: Glitch

Set in the fictional countryside of Yoorana, Victoria, this Australian television show followed seven people who suddenly return from the dead with no memory of what happened to them. It’s kind of like the opposite of The Leftovers, in some ways.

Glitch won Best Television Drama Series at the 2016 AACTA Awards and Most Outstanding Drama Series at the 2016 Logie Awards. It ran for 18 episodes across three seasons.

Glitch begins with a local police officer named James Hayes called to a cemetery to discover the several people suddenly alive again and in seemingly perfect health. As James tries his hardest to unravel the mystery, he tries to keep the case secret from the world, only receiving help from a doctor, Elisihia McKellar.

3. Scary shows on Netflix: Marianne

You might have heard of Marianne because when this French horror series released, it took audiences by storm. Articles raved about how scary the show was, and fans couldn’t get enough of it. Unfortunately, after only one season, Netflix canceled it, but it remains a chilling story about a young novelist who discovers the terrifying characters she writes about are very real.

“Marianne” is the name of a horrific witch possessing a woman in Emma’s hometown. As if being a creepy witch with evil intentions wasn’t enough, Marianne happens to be married to a demon named Beleth. The entire show is the stuff nightmares are made of. It has to be seen to be believed.
