Snowpiercer Season 2 has a premiere date. The TNT show released a new trailer sharing new footage along with details about when the show will air.

Are you feeling a chill in the air? It’s not just winter that’s on the horizon, but Snowpiercer Season 2. Yes, the TNT show will be back with more pulsating action and heart-stopping intrigue.

During a panel discussion at New York Comic Con with showrunner Graeme Manson, stars Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs, as well as new entrants Sean Bean and Rowan Blanchard, a new trailer for the show was released.

The trailer featured new footage from Snowpiercer Season 2 and closed with the premiere date—January 25, 2021.

Following the panel, the official Snowpiercer Twitter channel confirmed the news by sharing the date and trailer in a post.

For a show that concluded it’s opening season in July this year, resuming in January is quite a feat. However, the second season had already been shot when the decision was made to end the premiere season on the tenth episode.

No wonder TNT are raring to go when so many other shows are facing cancellation.

A lot happened in the first season, but Snowpiercer Season 2 promises even more. We had been given a glimpse of Sean Bean’s Mr Wilford, the purported creator of the eternal engine that powers the forever train, Snowpiercer, and now he’s back for more.

Wilford was presumed dead, mainly because engineer and head of hospitality Melanie Cavill (Connelly) had left him for dead just as the train was leaving. During the finale, it was revealed that Wilford was alive, had a bigger and more powerful train, and was planning a hostile takeover of Snowpiercer.

Of course, Wilford won’t be able to do so without opposition. Digg’s Andre Layton led a revolution from the Tail of the train to overtake the oppressive and opulent Front. He is unlikely to let Wilford walk over his hard-fought victory.

From what we can see in the new trailer for Snowpiercer Season 2, Layton and Wilford will be going head to head. But they will both have to deal with Cavill, fresh off a terrible loss and itching for revenge.

One thing’s for sure, viewers are going to be in for a treat come January 25, 2021.
