At NYCC, Hulu unveiled the first ten minutes of their upcoming horror series Helstrom, based on the Marvel comic series of the same name.
At the New York Comic-Con Metaverse panel, Hulu excited fans with a ten-minute sneak peek at their upcoming Marvel series, Helstrom. Unlike most Marvel shows, especially those on Disney Plus, Helstrom is a horror series revolving around the Devil’s children, Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana (Sydney Lemmon).
If the “Marvel” tag makes you apprehensive about watching Helstrom, don’t worry. According to Syfy Wire, showrunner Paul Zbyszewski said they worked hard to create a tone similar to many classic horror films when crafting the ten-episode season.
“They love the genre, and they visually brought something awesome to the show,” said Zbyszewski.

What is Helstrom about?
Helstrom is based on the Marvel comics of the same name. We only get to see Daimon in the sneak peek thus far, but according to the publication, the series will revolve on their difficult upbringing living with Satan as their dad. At times, Daimon even acted as a priest and has participated in exorcisms.
Austen describes Daimon as seeing “the world in quite a cynical way.” That said, he does try to help people, despite how hard society makes it for him.
Lemmon believes Ana is equally damaged after having such an “intense childhood.” Ana is a little harsher around the edges than her brother. He’s the one who tries to create a sense of tenderness between them.
The first season will be an intense journey for the siblings as they try to contend with their shared trauma and make sense of their unique upbringing. Like some of the best horror stories out there, Helstrom will have a lot of family drama at its center.
