As the group takes shelter from a storm, Felix begins persuading Elton that they should return home in The Walking Dead: World Beyond Episode 4.

In Episode 4 of The Walking Dead: World Beyond the group talks about rumors of a Hidden City before noticing an incoming storm. They decide to stay inside an abandoned high school and restock their diminishing supplies.

The group separates into teams: Felix and Elton, Silas and Iris, Hope and Huck with each team designated to a task.

Felix and Elton break into a science classroom where Elton takes a picture of a science fair poster. Felix doesn’t find Elton to be the type to venture off into the world but Elton explains that he rather see and experience things in person rather than from books.

They find several bottles and objects to collect water including a bottle of iodine they can use to purify the water. As they leave the classroom they find a trail of blood and try to contact Iris and Silas via walkie talkie.

Iris and Silas find the gym decorated for a Sadie Hawkins dance and immediately Iris takes interest in paintbrushes. Hesitant to take them, Silas puts them in her backpack.

When they attempt to leave they realize the door is stuck and the only other way out has an empty blocking their way. They try and fail to contact Felix.

As Felix and Elton pass an empty stuck in a locker which briefly triggers Elton’s claustrophobia, Felix lays all his cards on the table. After he explains that the tattoo on his arm is a reminder of all those he lost he admits he doesn’t want to lose anyone else.

He wants Elton to convince the rest of the group to abandon their mission and return home. Elton doesn’t respond and the two find a red light room full of decaying and torn up empties.

While Iris and Silas wait they enjoy a can of soda and listen to an old song that happens to be one of Silas’s grandmother’s favorite songs. The two waltz when Felix and Elton find them in the gym.

The two agree they’ll take care of the empty but when a vent begins rattling Iris and Silas take matters into their own hands. They trick the empty into the gym as they escape but find themselves in a room where empties keep coming in.

Their only way out is locked.

Huck tries to talk to Hope about why she left a trail for her and Felix to find when they encountered the cause of the dead empties: a vicious wolf. Staying calm they avoid the danger safely.

They manage to find food, supplies and the door where Iris and Silas are trapped behind. As an empty gets closer to Iris and Silas, Silas uses his rage and beats the empty into a bloody mess as the rest of the group finds them.

Iris and Hope come to grips that they should have talked about the night their mom died sooner. Elton questions Felix about his plan to get them back home in which he simply states their last best chance is Mississippi.

Iris checks in on Silas who asks her if she thinks he killed his dad. This revelation connects to the flashbacks of his bloodied hands.

She reassures him that he saved them from the empty. The episode ends with Elton taking a photo of the group.
