4. Best Canadian shows: Anne with an E
Anne with an E was adapted from the 1908 classic work of children’s literature by Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables. The series ran for three seasons before Netflix canceled it. The series is a coming-of-age story and a reimagining of the classic.
Anne (Amybeth McNulty) is a 13-year-old who endured an abusive childhood and was peddled from orphanage to orphanage. Then in the 1890s, Anne is sent to live with a pair of siblings on Prince Edward Island who slowly begins to transform the lives of those who live there.
Anne with an E is now streaming on Netflix.

Schitt’s Creek revolves around a wealthy couple who suddenly find themselves broke resort to living in a small town they once bought as a joke — Schitt’s Creek — with their spoiled children along for the ride.
Schitt’s Creek is now streaming on Netflix.
