7. The trip to the Berkshires.

In the fall of 2016, Allison took her slaves to the Berkshires in Massachusetts. What initially began as a fun bonding experience soon turned into something horrific.

Allison told the women she wanted to take a “family picture,” meaning all of the girls standing together fully naked. She reportedly sent the photo to Keith, who allegedly texted back, “All mine?” with a devil-face emoji.

Nicole saw the text and became furious, asking Allison if Keith was aroused from the images and why she would send them. Allison allegedly reprimanded her and accused her of projection. As punishment for Nicole’s insolence, India says Allison forced each woman to pose for explicit close-ups of their nether regions.

6. Allison reportedly forced each woman to submit monthly collateral.

Along with the initial collateral they were forced to submit upon being recruited into DOS, Allison supposedly forced her slaves to submit monthly collateral. According to India, it got to the point where they didn’t even know what to submit as collateral anymore. The higher-ranking DOS members told them to make stuff up — like you might make a video accusing your father of molestation, even if it wasn’t real.

“A lot of us started to just send more and more explicit photographs because the burden kind of fell on you. It didn’t  compromise anyone else.”

Things became increasingly worse with Keith, too. India details situations where he would demand her pull over while driving to take an up-close photo of her vagina. If she wasn’t smiling or the image wasn’t explicit enough, he would tell her to retake it. He told her it was an exercise involving pushing her out of her comfort zone.

5. Allison wanted India to work on her “problems with sex” with Keith.

At the time, India really believed everything they wanted her to do was, at their core, done with good intentions, and India felt she had to participate even if that meant letting Keith initiate a sexual relationship with her.

He would ask her questions about certain sexual experiences, and then he began “working” on India, which entailed him performing oral sex on her. India describes being terrified and feeling paralyzed throughout the abuse. She says he was not aroused, which made her believe that he was doing it for her benefit only and wasn’t getting anything out of it — making her feel more confused about his motives.

“I definitely lost myself for a little while, believing that what we were doing was good for me.”

India had no idea he was doing it to other women. Later she found out he was doing increasingly disgusting, demanding acts to other women in DOS and threatening to release their collateral if they said anything.

“There is no consensual sex, however you want to define it, in a cult.”

4. No woman was immune from punishment.

The punishments in DOS were extremely severe, and no woman was immune. For one of Allison’s punishments, she was forced to paddle other first-line DOS slaves. India remembers being made to film it at one point.

Some women were told to purchase extremely intense and dangerous BDSM equipment online like steel dog cages, restraint bars and more. But the key difference between BDSM between consenting partners and DOS is that there was no safe word and no consent in DOS.  Women were encouraged to put their slaves in cages to punish them for as long as they saw fit.

Over time, some of the women would begin to self-chastise. India describes a device that Allison would wear called a cilice, a band that wrapped around her thigh like a garter, but it was composed of needle-like things that you can strap to your body, and it’s very itchy, painful and sharp. She would wear that when she felt like she needed to be punished.

One particularly haunting incident allegedly involved a slave named Daniela, who moved to Albany with her family from Mexico. At one point, Daniela expressed feelings for someone who was not Keith, and as punishment, she was forced to stay confined inside of a townhouse until she made amends. Nancy Salzman’s daughter, Lauren, was said to be in charge of monitoring her.

Daniela was kept inside a room for almost two years. Eventually, she was taken to the Mexican border without her paperwork and just left there — without any identification or money. She says Keith sexually abused her, along with her two sisters. All three of them were reportedly impregnated by Keith and encouraged to get abortions.
