Truth Seekers Episode 6: Is Smyle a part of the conspiracy?

In the previous episode of Amazon Prime’s Truth Seekers, Gus and Elton get a tip that Smyle may be a part of a bigger plan. Will Gus follow up on this tip or dismiss it? We begin Truth Seekers Episode 6 back in time again. A woman is in a cell, and she is holding a doll. A group of men walk in and condemn her. They say that she is in there for killing 12 men. They begin to torture and kill her.

A man takes the doll away, and she begins to read a spell. Her blood gets on the pages of the book, and it looks like her soul goes into the doll. Elton and Gus go to Smyle. Dave asks them about going to Chichester. Elton asks why they have to go there, and Dave tells them that he wants customers to have service where they go.

Elton then jokes about mind control, and Dave laughs. We then cut to Toynbee and his assistant, looking at locations. He claims that they have found a spot where the barrier between worlds is weak. But then the assistant says she has cell phone service.

Wendy from the hotel from the beginning of the series is also one of Toynbee’s minions.

Toynbee calls her and asks why he has service in their location, and she says that Smyle came to fix the problem. Meanwhile, Astrid, Elton, and Gus arrive at the Chichester institute. They meet a man that is not happy to be there on the weekend. He is the developer of the property. The group enters the institute.

Helen and Richard are hanging out again at the house. They are preparing the YouTube channel for a live stream. At the Chichester institute, the group gears up to go live. Helen wants them to record an introduction before they go live.

Truth Seekers Episode 6: Going Live

Gus now starts on his journey into the institute’s halls, and Elton goes back to the van to hop on his computer. Helen and Richard start to talk about Gus’s wife. They can all overhear each other. We then find out that Richard is really Emily’s father, not Gus’s. Gus then pushes to go live, and they do.

Dr. Toynbee is on the Smyle website and is doing some research into Gus. He finds his ‘Truth Seekers’ YouTube channel. Astrid comes across a strange wall and opens a door. Inside the door, there is an office. She finds the torture device from the beginning of the episode. Then she finds a horrible book with the developer’s name on it.

Gus then comes across a hallway that isn’t on the schematic. We then lose Gus’s feed, but Gus doesn’t know that. Helen asks Elton to ask the property developer about the extra room or add-ons. But he has no idea about them. Gus has entered the cell that the woman was kept in. We can hear the voice of the woman coming through. She wants Gus to take to her with him.

Then, she spills some tea. She says Richard wishes Gus died instead of Emily. She then says that the boy has lied to him. Which boy? Elton? Elton and Astrid meet back in the lobby. Astrid gives the book to the developer.

Gus is being yelled at by the doll when Elton and Astrid come in. He says the doll is possessed, but the doll goes limp when they come in. The developer lights the doll on fire for good measure. Again she is transmitted, but to who? The developer? Elton, Gus, and Astrid leave without solving the problem.

The developer returns to the cell and puts the torture device around his neck. Her soul kills him. But what good does this do for the spirit? Back at home, Gus is thinking about his interactions with Elton. Could the doll have been right about him? Gus now goes through his old magazines and finds Elton as a child and labeled “the most haunted child.”

Truth Seekers Episode 6: Final Thoughts

We are starting to see some common themes here. Possession and mind control keeps coming up. We also learn a little bit more about Elton’s past. Could he be the ‘most haunted child?’ Overall, I would give this episode an A-. It gives us some spooky, some magic, and some hauntings. We are also now starting to roll with the series’s plot and like where it is heading.
