WandaVision has a release date! The Marvel spin-off show on Disney Plus was teased earlier this year and now we know it will be streaming.

WandaVision is coming! The Disney Plus show is a spin-off from the Marvel Cinematic Universe featuring two of the newer characters, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), and Vision (Paul Bettany).

The show was on track for release in 2020 before the pandemic restrictions came into place. But it seems enough was produced for the show to release to audiences.

Disney Plus had shared a teaser of upcoming content which featured WandaVision, leading many to believe that the show would release at the end of December, 2020.

Well, at last, the speculation can end because we now have a release date at last—January 15, 2021. TVLine reported the news, which was confirmed via the show’s official Twitter account with another short teaser.

WandaVision: What’s Confirmed About the Show?

Alongside Olsen and Bettany who will be reprising their roles, WandaVision will see Kat Dennings returning as Darcy Lewis, and Randall Park returning as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo.

Dennings has not been seen in the role of Lewis since Thor: The Dark World, but following this show she will be seen again in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Park’s Woo was a memorable entrant in Ant-Man and the Wasp and it will be interesting to see how the character fits into the world of the show.

We will be seeing new characters on the show, including Kathryn Hahn as a nosy neighbor. And we now have confirmation that Teyonah Parris will be playing an adult version of Monica Rambeau. We have seen the character before, as a child played by Akira Akbar in Captain Marvel.

Interestingly, showrunner Jac Schaeffer was a screenwriter on Captain Marvel so she will have a better understanding of how Rambeau’s inclusion affects the MCU. That film was also spot-on in terms of era-specific details which should translate well to this show.

There is little that we can guess about WandaVision apart from what we have seen in the teasers, but it’s poised to be an exciting entry into the canon.
