In the Dash and Lily ending, does the titular couple finally get together and earn their happily ever after?

The short answer is, yes! The Dash and Lily ending is indeed a happy one. While I suspected that would be the case since the show is mostly your typical rom-com, I did have my fears. However, I’m happy that the writers decided to wrap things up in a tidy way. Should Dash and Lily end up being a one-off limited series, it makes for a perfect quick holiday viewing.

How did Dash and Lily get things back on the right track after hitting rock bottom in the previous episode? Well, Dash reads Lily’s final message to him and is devastated to learn that she has stopped believing in the magic of Christmas. He blames himself for that and gathers his friends to help him get one more chance to make things right with her. Dash even attends a Jonas Brothers concert just to make amends with Boomer.

With a little help from his best friend and even Sofia, Dash manages to put together a magical, romantic evening in The Strand, complete with an array of Lily’s favorite New York foods and a tree decked out with special ornaments that serve as a tribute to their many dares and adventures.

He knows it will be Lily’s last night in the city before she and her parents move to Fiji. As the clock ticks away closer and closer to midnight, the same time that Lily and her parents will board a flight to Fiji, Dash hopes she’ll show up at The Strand.

As for Lily, she’s all set to move because her grandpa is unwilling to let her live with him in NYC due to her recent behavior. Unfortunately, Langston sees the notebook return to her on the steps before she leaves in the taxi, and he keeps it instead of giving it to her, not really sure why. However, later Langston realizes Lily deserves to see the final message, and he sends her a screenshot of it. In it, Dash reveals that he’s falling in love with her and asks her to come to the place where it all began.

Lily bolts out of the cab as they sit stuck in traffic in Queens and sprints to The Strand. She’s too late. The door is locked. Luckily, Jeff, the Macy’s elf, is hanging around outside for some reason and unlocks the door for her. There, she and Dash are finally reunited. They share a kiss and then prepare for Lily to go. But then she gets a call from her grandpa. After chatting with her Aunt Lillian, he says he’s decided she can stay in New York and live with Lillian during the times when he’s in Florida. He compromises!

Lily isn’t moving after all, but she does try to leave to catch up with her parents after leaving them in the taxi. The only problem is, The Strand doors are locked, leaving Dash and Lily stuck in The Strand overnight. Lily decides to embrace her circumstances, and the two cozy up in a window for some New Years’ Eve kissing. It’s the type of sweet ending that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Also, Langston and Benny get back together after Lily chastises for breaking up with him because Benny was going to Puerto Rico on vacation for two weeks — which is a ridiculous reason to end a relationship. He even gets Benny his own blue notebook so they can write to each other during that time.
