3. Best Thanksgiving shows on Netflix: Gilmore Girls
Yet another TV classic, Gilmore Girls, tells the story of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) as they navigate life in the small town of Stars Hollow. Both mother and daughter have struggles and triumphs, and both are interesting for the audience to watch. The original show has 7 seasons that we are sure you’ll love binge-watching. Plus, the Netflix sequel Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, featuring many original cast members, including Graham and Bledel.
What makes this the perfect show to watch on Netflix for Thanksgiving weekend is that it’s got heart. The characters are all extremely well-written, as is the world created in the small town of Stars Hollow. It certainly feels like a real place, and the characters feel very realistic as well.
Lorelai and Rory’s antics are certainly entertaining, yet underneath it all, there’s a meaningful mother-daughter relationship there. The secondary characters from Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy) to Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) are all equally intriguing and full of heart.
So if you’re looking for warm and fuzzy family feelings, you’ll find them here. The show does have conflict, but overall it is a positive experience that we would definitely recommend. If you haven’t seen Gilmore Girls already, you’re in for a treat. And if you have, why not indulge again? You won’t regret it!
