By Mads Lennon
Before the second season of Apple TV Plus’s space-themed series For All Mankind can debut, the streamer has already renewed it for a Season 3.
According to a new press release from Apple TV Plus, the critically acclaimed space drama For All Mankind has been renewed for a third season ahead of its second season global premiere. The second season isn’t slated to debut on the app until February 19, 2021, but Apple has enough faith in the show to go ahead and give it the greenlight for season three.
The series from Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award winner Ronald D. Moore explores what would have happened if the global space race continued, instead of ending. In this alternate timeline, NASA astronauts, engineers and their families find themselves at the center of extraordinary events in a world where the USSR beats America to the moon.

The 10-episode second season of For All Mankind will debut globally with the first episode on Friday, February 19, 2021. After that, one new episode will debut weekly, every Friday, exclusively on Apple TV Plus.
Aside from current stars Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Sarah Jones, Shantel VanSanten, Wrenn Schmidt, Jodi Balfour, Krys Marshall and Sonya Walger, the second season has added several new cast members, including Cynthy Wu as Kelly, an astronaut’s daughter, Coral Peña as an adult Aleida Rosales, and Casey W. Johnson as Danny Stevens, the sons of astronauts Gordo (Dorman) and Tracy (Jones).
