4. Canceled TV shows: One Day at a Time

A revamped version of the original Norman Lear television show of the same name, this Netflix sitcom revolved around a Cuban-American family living in Los Angeles. It quickly found a vocal, devoted fanbase because of its inclusive nature, excellent cast, LGBTQIA+ representation and general hilarious and heartwarming nature. The series also tackled issues like immigration, racism, PTSD, homophobia, sexism and more.

Unfortunately, Netflix canceled the show after only three seasons, but then Pop TV came to the rescue. They revived One Day at a Time for a fourth season, but then COVID-19 hit, resulting in only part of the season being filmed. On top of that, Pop TV decided to move away from scripted television and decided not to finish Season 4 and ultimately cancel the show. Sony TV has decided to shop the show around again, but it seems like it might be done for good this time.

3. Canceled TV shows: Single Parents

This sweet, hilarious sitcom was a particularly painful cancellation by ABC. As if canceling the show suddenly wasn’t bad enough, Single Parents ended on a significant cliffhanger.

On her way to spending the summer with her ex Derek, Angie suddenly remembers that Will had drunkenly confessed to being in love with her. Now fans will never know if their dream ship was finally going to come true, as many were hoping that Angie and Will would finally get together. It seems like the main reason the show was canceled was due to declining ratings.
