Will The Haunting return for Season 3 at Netflix?

Mike Flanagan currently has no plans to create The Haunting Season 3.
The Haunting of Hill House follow-up The Haunting of Bly Manor officially debuted on Netflix a few months ago. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting an update from Netflix on whether or not The Haunting Season 3 will officially be happening at the streaming service.
According to showrunner and creator Mike Flanagan, he does not currently have any plans for another season, although he did add that one should “never say never.”
The horror director and filmmaker took to Twitter earlier today to answer a fan who had asked Flanagan directly if there would be “another chapter of Haunting in the future.” In response, the Doctor Sleep director said he didn’t have any plans for that and is instead focusing on several other projects produced by his production company Intrepid Projects.
At the moment there are no plans for more chapters. Never say never, of course, but right now we are focused on a full slate of other @intrepid projects for 2021 and beyond. If things change we will absolutely let everyone know! https://t.co/WkkSwsnFlm

Why doesn’t Flanagan intend to make The Haunting Season 3?
Since the first two seasons were so successful, you might be wondering why Flanagan doesn’t want to continue making more. The reason for that is pretty simple. As he mentioned, he has several other exciting projects happening and would rather dedicate his time to those right now.
Last year, Flanagan and Intrepid Pictures inked an overall deal with Netflix to create exclusive projects for the streamer. Along with several movies that have already debuted on Netflix, like Before I Wake and Gerald’s Game, Flanagan is also creating two series for them, including an original series called Midnight Mass and an adaptation of Christopher Pike’s book The Midnight Club. That’s a lot of content to keep busy with, especially as Flanagan serves as a writer, creator, director, editor and executive producer for both shows.
While I’m disappointed this might be the end of the road for The Haunting, I certainly can’t wait to see what Flanagan does next!
