Punky Brewster continuation: Find out when all episodes are dropping on Peacock
By Mads Lennon
All 10 episodes of the Punky Brewster reboot are debuting on Peacock TV next month!
Fans of the original series don’t have to wait much longer for the continuation of the classic sitcom starring Soleil Moon Fyre. The Punky Brewster reboot will premiere on February 25 on Peacock TV, dropping all 10 episodes at once, reports Variety.
The original 1980s series followed Punky’s life after being taken in by foster dad Henry Warnimont (the late George Gaynes). In this new iteration, Punky is a single mother of three kids working hard to get her life back on track. Fyre will return to portray the titular character.
Who’s new, and who is returning?
Apart from Fyre, Cherie Johnson will also return to reprise her role as Punky’s best friend, Cherie. It doesn’t sound like any of the other original actors are returning — or if they are, their roles are being kept under wraps.
New characters include Travis, Punky’s ex-husband, played by Freddie Prinze Jr., Noah Cottrell as Diego, Lauren Lindsey Donzis as Hannah and Oliver de Los Santos as Daniel. Punky will also meet a young girl in the foster system named Izzy, who reminds her of herself as a kid. Quinn Copeland will play Izzy.
If you haven’t seen the original series or want to catch up, all four seasons are already available on Peacock TV. The Punky Brewster reboot is just the latest in a stream of revivals from NBCUniversal’s service. And if Punky Brewster is anywhere as good as the recent Saved by the Bell reboot, I’m excited to watch it!
