Netflix February 2021: Capitani on Feb. 11

Capitani is a new crime drama series from Luxembourg that will debut on the streaming service on February 11. The series follows Detective Luc Capitani who travels to a rural village where a young girl has mysteriously vanished. Capitani quickly finds himself out of his element in the strange town where he is considered an outsider.

According to What’s on Netflix, showrunner Thierry Faber had this to say about the series being picked up by Netflix for global distribution:

"Seeing our work go live on a global entertainment service of this scale is obviously a source of immense joy and pride. I am curious how audiences around the world will be perceiving our show and I can’t wait to get some feedback. It’s a motivation to keep working and we will certainly continue to develop interesting projects. In the meantime, I’m wishing Luc Capitani good luck on his world tour."

The first season reportedly consists of 12 episodes total. The outlet also noted that the series had already been renewed for a second season, which will likely debut on Netflix later on down the line.

Netflix February 2021: The Crew on Feb. 15

Coming to Netflix on February 15 is a new Kevin James-led comedy series titled The Crew, created by Jeff Lowell. Taking place in a NASCAR garage,  The Crew follows James’s character as he often butts heads with his new boss and his “millennial” staff, after the original owner retires and lets his daughter take over the racing team.

It sounds like this might be one of those shows that’s basically about boomers not “understanding” the younger crowd so it’ll be hit-or-miss with audiences. Collider points out that this might be a good fit for those who are already missing The Ranch.
