Don’t miss out on the Resident Alien premiere tonight on Syfy. The science-fiction dramedy series is based on the Dark Horse Comics series of the same name and stars Alan Tudyk in the leading role of Captain Hah Re/Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle.

Tudyk’s character is an alien that has crash-landed on Earth and must take on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor so he isn’t discovered. Throughout the first season, Harry will grapple with trying to keep his mission a secret while simultaneously dealing with a moral dilemma concerning his true goals.

Apart from Tudyk, the series also stars Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund and Levi Fiehler. Resident Alien is already drumming up some good buzz from critics and currently has an approval rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. Most critics are saying the series suffers from having too many moving parts, but is overall a worthy starring vehicle for Tudyk and a great dark comedy.

"An alien hiding in a small Colorado town meets the locals when they ask him to help solve a murder."

The Resident Alien premiere will be simulcast on Syfy and USA Network tonight, January 27 at 10 p.m. ET. Going forward, I believe the show will only be presented on Syfy but for its debut, you can watch it on either NBCUniversal channel.

Looking ahead, the following episodes are scheduled:

How can you get access to Syfy or USA Network?

Most major digital television streaming services offer Syfy, like YouTube TV, Hulu Live, fuboTV, etc. If you have cable, most packages also include the channel. You can also watch Syfy through their website livestream, although you’ll probably need to sign in through a provider. The Syfy Now app is also free and grants you access to next-day airings of episodes after you sign with your provider.

While you’ll most likely want to get your Syfy situation figured out first and foremost if you intend to watch the entire season of Resident Alien, those who just want to sample the first episode for now first might settle for USA Network if you already have it.

Similar to Syfy, USA Network is also available through most digital streaming television services. You can also watch through the USA Network online livestream or download the USA app to watch full episodes by signing in with your TV subscription. The USA app supports most TV providers, including DirecTV, Spectrum, Xfinity, Dish, and AT&T.
