Brie Larson, Jennifer Garner, and more big stars headed to Apple TV Plus

Rose Byrne & Seth Rogen

Neighbors stars Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen will re-team for one of the many upcoming Apple TV Plus shows a comedy called Platonic. The new series will also reunite the pair with the director Nick Stoller. The 10-episode half-hour comedy series will explore their totally platonic relationship.

According to the press release, Byrne nad Rogen will portray, “A pair of former best friends who met in their youth reconnect as adults and try to mend the rift that led to their falling out. As their friendship becomes more consuming, it destabilizes their lives and causes them to reevaluate their choices.”

Additionally, Byrne will star in a different dramedy called Physical as a 1980s housewife who discovered the world of aerobics.

Will Ferrell & Paul Rudd

After a high-stakes bidding competition, Apple landed the straight-to-series order of the upcoming Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd limited series titled The Shrink Next Door. The series, one of several limited series among the upcoming Apple TV Plus shows slate, is a dark comedy that is based on true events detailing a strange relationship between a psychiatrist to the stars and his longtime patient. Rudd will play Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf and Ferrell will play his patient, Martin “Marty” Markowitz.
