Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Before Apple officially launched their streaming service, they had already begun preparing their upcoming Apple TV Plus shows, and one of them was set to star Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The Inception actor was also scheduled to write and executive produce the series, currently called Mr. Corman.

Not much has been said since the initial announcement, so it’s not entirely clear if it is still in the works. But Gordon-Levitt was prepared to produce under his HitRECord banner. The series is supposed to follow an elementary school teacher struggling with adulthood, per Variety.

Julianne Moore & Clive Owen

The Stephen King adaptations seemingly have no end in sight with most streamers, at this point, having at least one of their own. Netflix has Gerald’s Game and a few others, HBO has The Outsider, Hulu has Castle Rock and 11/22/63, CBS has The Stand and now one of the upcoming Apple TV Plus shows is Lisey’s Story, set to star Clive Owen and Julianne Moore.

King is currently set to write all eight episodes of the series, based on the 2006 novel, which is remarkable since King has mostly avoided writing for the screen, even for his own shows, over the years. The show follows Lisey (Moore) who struggles to cope with her husband’s (Owen) death and slowly begins to realize she’s repressed certain events.
