All American Season 3, Episode 4 Recap: My Mind’s Playing Tricks On Me

In the previous episode of All American, both Crenshaw and Beverly had eye-opening games. In All American Season 3, Episode 4, we find out if Jordan can really step up and if Spencer can control his emotions.

We begin this episode with Spencer waiting to talk to a therapist about his shoulder. This is one step in the right direction.

Asher is putting work in at the gym. Coop and Patience are rocking out at the cafe. Simone blows off a date with Jordan. Darnell is seen packing, probably to visit his mother.

The next day, Spencer tells Coop that her video went viral. Coop asks him about the therapist, and he says it is going well. Coop is apparently blowing off the school guidance counselor. Coop has missed so much school that now she doesn’t have enough credits to finish.

All American Season 3, Episode 4 Recap: Guess who is coming to dinner.

At the Baker house, Billy has come over with pizza for the family. When all of a sudden, Willy, Billy’s father, walks into the house. Willy surprised Jordan at practice. Jordan asks if Willy can stay for dinner a few times this week. Billy reluctantly says yes.

Willy wants to hang out with Jordan, but he finally gets a phone call from Simone, so he answers.

Spencer is talking to his therapist about everything he has going on in his life. The therapist acknowledges the stress but wants to take it further back in time. He thinks that his block stems from the actual event itself.

Darnell is at the James’s house. He finds out that his mom is stable. He is supposed to leave this Friday.

In Beverly, coach Montes is having the guys watch tape from their last game. She wants them to find what’s wrong in the film and why they almost lost. The team still doesn’t have their heads in the game, and the coach gives them an early morning practice as punishment.

In Crenshaw, Patience brings up how Coop is not eligible for graduation. Layla shows up and promises that she is working on Patience’s contract, but something seems off.

Olivia runs into Spencer in Crenshaw. Olivia is on her way to teach dance. Spencer says that he knows a lot of things happened this summer, but he misses his friend. They hug it out, and they go back to talking like friends. What does this mean?

Simone shows up at Jordan’s house. She asks him if they can go for a drive. She brings him to the house where her son is being raised and tells him that she doesn’t think she made the right choice. She legally has time to take her child back.

Willy shows up at Billy’s office and tells Billy that he has left his son to chase Spencer. Willy warns Billy that Jordan is chasing around a girl and is not focused. Billy tells him that he knows the situation and it is fine.

Layla shows up to her father’s label. She says that she wants to sign Patience but is told it is never going to happen.

Back at the therapist, Spencer is sharing about the night he got shot. The therapist wants to know who he blames for the shooting. Spencer can’t figure it out and is told to write it down.

All American Season 3, Episode 4 Recap: Will everyone get their way?

Jordan leaves school and drives over to the house where Simone’s baby is. The father is outside throwing out the trash. Jordan tries to talk to him about how Simone wants the baby back, but the father doesn’t want to hear it.

Darnell is at the field hanging out on the bleachers. Spencer goes to see him and tells him that everyone is going to miss him. Darnell is mad at himself for getting attaching knowing that he would probably have to move again.

Asher working out in the gym, again. He finally calls out Coach Montes and asks if he will be able to play again. Coach tells him to stop being selfish. Harsh, but true.

Layla finally breaks it to Patience that she isn’t able to get her out of the contract. But Coop won’t take that as her final answer and wants Layla to keep fighting. Layla agrees.

Simone finds out that Jordan went back to the baby’s house, and she isn’t happy. Simone has decided to take the baby back. What does this mean for Jordan?

Back at Baker’s house, Willy has joined for dinner. Jordan says he isn’t going to the team picture tomorrow because he has to help Simone. Olivia and Willy step out to grab dessert. Jordan’s parents press him about what is going on, but Jordan gives nothing up.

In Crenshaw, Spencer and his family are throwing Darnell a going away party. Meanwhile, Billy shows up with his own surprise for Spencer. It is Jordan.

Billy knew Jordan needed to talk to Spencer, and he was right. It turns out they both needed the chat.

Spencer tells Darnell that they will be waiting for him when he is ready to return to Crenshaw.

The next day, Spencer starts to write down what happened the night of the shooting and who is the real person he blames. After walking through it, Spencer realizes he blames Coop.

Simone goes to take the baby back, but she decides against it. The adoptive parents of her son offer for her to remain in his life. Simone accepts.
