Bridgerton Season 1 left fans with these 5 questions for Season 2 to answer.

Netflix’s Bridgerton Season 1 had everyone talking. The show took viewers into the romantic and heartbreaking world that is 1813 London. While this may be different from other Netflix shows, it still left viewers with several unanswered questions. Bridgerton has been renewed for a Season 2, which means more period piece drama is on the way.

But what questions will next season address? From why Penelope is writing as Lady Whistledown to the Featherington heir, these are 5 questions that will hopefully be answered in Season 2. Before going forward, spoilers ahead for those who have not caught up with the show.

5. Bridgerton Season 1: Why is Penelope writing as Lady Whistledown?

The Season 1 finale of Bridgerton revealed the identity of Lady Whistledown to be Penelope Featherington. But why is Penelope doing this?

Penelope came off as a very young but sweet character. Her choice to befriend Marina after it was revealed she was pregnant when no one else in the Featherington household would spoke volumes.

However, as much as she was sweet, she revealed her sour side when Marina took an interest in Colin Featherington. It was obvious from the beginning of the season that Penelope had feelings for Colin.

While he was kind and respectful to her, his feelings, however, was that of friendship. When Marina intended to marry Colin in the hopes that he would believe the baby she was currently pregnant with to be his, Penelope couldn’t stay quiet any longer.

She never confessed to Colin the truth about Marina; however, as Lady Whistledown, she could. Perhaps in Season 2, we will see why Penelope has taken this secret identity and why she feels the need to share everyone’s personal lives with the rest of London.
