Bridge and Tunnel Season 1, Episode 4 recap: Pags gets a girlfriend

In Bridge and Tunnel Season 1, Episode 4, “Just Friends,” Jill sets Pags up with her friend Julianna while Mikey and Tammy take the plunge and go on a date behind Stacey’s back.

The latest episode of Bridge and Tunnel sees a shift in the core dynamics of the group. Mikey and Tammy go on a date,  Pags might have a new girlfriend and just when you think  Jimmy and JIll are done for good — they rekindle their flame yet again.

When we last saw Mikey and Tammy together, canoodling at the diner where Tammy works, it was obvious that there was a mutual attraction between them. Stacey called it quits with Mikey in the previous episode, seemingly freeing him up to pursue whoever he wants. Technically, Mikey and Stacey were never a real couple anyway, so why shouldn’t he and Tammy start seeing each other?

There’s just one significant roadblock standing in the way of a Mikey/Tammy coupling — Tammy’s conscience. Stacey doesn’t have much of a reason to prevent them from dating, seeing as she’s living with another guy in the city, but Tammy respects their friendship too much to start seeing Mikey without getting her friend’s blessing.

While the pair does enjoy a sweet, romantic evening together, it doesn’t go much further than that as Tammy can’t bring herself to break the girl code. She knows Stacey wouldn’t be okay with them seeing each other, so she suggests that they stay friends for now. Mikey is visibly disappointed with her decision, although he tries to be understanding.

Surprisingly, Jill’s friend Julianna, a thriving music writer for Billboard, takes a liking to Pags. Jill, Julianna, Pags and Jimmy go on a double date to ease any awkwardness between Pags and Julianna, who are set up on a blind date. For the most part, the date goes well. But after they finish having dinner, Jill and Jimmy can’t keep their hands off each other.

Jill instigates a quick makeout sesh in the parking lot right in front of Pags and Julianna. Pags suggests that they start kissing too to make it less awkward, but Julianna isn’t feeling it. She doesn’t want to rush into anything, mostly since Pags lives in Long Island while Julianna is from the city. Instead, they agree to meet up again the following weekend.

As for Jill and Jimmy, Jimmy comes around to the idea of Jill “having her freedom” when he goes to Alaska, so long as he can continue seeing her until he departs. So the on-again-off-again couple is back on again.  We’ll see how long that lasts.
